Thought this could be an interesting post for the other Cubs collectors out there. If you're like me and you try and get every Cubs card you can, this one is a must have. I like to get a card of everyone who played for the Cubs as a member of the Cubs. Even though, not every player has one so that makes it tough and it sucks. But this one is the one and only card (to my knowledge) of Scott Hairston as a Cub and it's limited to only 50. Only 50 Cubs/Hairston collectors can claim it. I got in a trade on one of the forums I actively trade on.
Even though he only played in 52 games for the 2013 Cubs and hit .172, he had 8 HR's and 19 RBI's including a Grand Slam before we gave him away to the Nationals. So I am a little surprised he even got some Cubs love. Funny thing is the picture used for the card was also used for his Update base, but photoshopped as a National. So why did Topps make the Silk with the original Cubs photo? For collectors like me, of course! So without further adieu, here is the lonesome Hairston Cubs representation on cardboard. 2013 Topps Update Silk Collection 08/50 (eBay 1/1. He had 8 career Cubs HR's!):
Also, there is one more Silk card on my wantlist for a players only card as a Cub, 2011 Topps Silk Doug Davis. It kind of makes me wonder how many other players have just one card as a Cub, especially in today's world of 37 parallels for everything.

Hello baseball card blog world!
This is my first attempt at trying this. So bear with me.
Well, I am a huge Cubs fan and have been since 1998. The home run chase that summer is what got me to start following baseball hardcore. I started to root for Sosa to be the guy who broke the record and he became my favorite player and since Cubs games were always on WGN at the time I was able to watch Sosa a lot and that just grew into a love for the Cubs in general. Now here I am, a sad, old Cubs fan.
(I also have the same passion for the Minnesota Vikings.)
So add all that in with also being a card collector for what seems like my whole life, I avidly try and collect as many team sets and whatever else of these 2 teams. I follow most professional sports and collect stuff from each as well.
So, I hope I can stay somewhat active and share posts of my collection and random thoughts on the Cubs, Vikings, the hobby and sports in general.I have been reading Wrigley Wax for about 2 years and Once a Cub for about 1 year. Not sure if the world needs another Cubs/Card blog, but I enjoy reading theirs and sometimes think I can come up with posts that are similar with helping other Cubs/baseball fans/collectors.
I have a want/trade site available and I am working on more for the Cubs.
I think this is it for the first post, hope to figure this out and make it more interesting. Time will tell.
Goodnight.
